As an optometrist in Hercules, our primary eye care service includes a complete eye exam that analyzes eye health and vision function.  Our Hercules optometrist also offer glasses, contact lenses, and pre- and post-operative care.

Eye Exams

Dr. Respicio and the Optometry by the Bay team take even "routine" eye exams very seriously. During a yearly or bi-yearly examination, our patients will receive a patient history review, a series of vision and eye tests, assessments of eye focusing and movement, and an eye health evaluation. Our optometrist will discuss any additional testing that may be required to diagnose an eye disease or condition. Call us a today at 510-724-3937 to schedule an appointment.

Retinal Imaging and 3D-OCT

As humans, we wonder if anything is 'brewing' in our body, including our eyes, that if detected early can be treated.  We do not want to lose vision. One of the most powerful diagnostic tools at Optometry by the Bay is our Topcon Maestro 3D-OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography).  A retinal image taken with the Maestro during an eye exam is highly effective at detecting signs of eye disease associated with Diabetes, Hypertension, High Cholesterol and other systemic diseases that affect the retina.  Also, this instrument is highly useful to detect and monitor effects of Glaucoma.  We recommend a yearly screening with this device.

Contact Lenses

Want another option than just glasses? Advances in the field of optometry have produced a variety of contact lenses with a range of benefits. Disposable dailies, bi-weeklies or monthly soft lenses, Rigid Gas-Permeable (RGP), colored lenses, and new MYOPIA-CONTROL lenses are the various types of options available today. Our doctor will discuss the various options with you to determine which type will best fit your needs and lifestyle. Schedule your examination today by calling 510-724-3937.

Lasik

Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis, commonly referred to as LASIK, is a corrective alternative to glasses or contact lenses. Like glasses or contact lenses, LASIK is a method for treating refractive conditions including nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. At Optometry by the Bay, Dr. Respicio provides pre- and post-operative exams for LASIK and other eye procedures. Call 510-724-3937 today to schedule an examination to see whether you are a candidate for LASIK.
